Christopher Redmond
Director
The founder of Running Head First. [p>
Chris’ experiences with mental health issues and the positive impact running made on his recovery are our inspiration.
A keen runner and Jiu-Jitsu lover, Chris is committed to giving people the chance to overcome personal problems through physical activity.
Chris regularly helps people with everything from Couch to 5k running plans to marathon training.
As a student of MSc Psychology, his enthusiasm, drive, and determination to make a difference in his community are massive factors in our success and the progress of our clients.
Ashley Cox
Director
Ash has worked in health and fitness for over a decade.
With his background in elite sport and athlete development and a passion for improving public health, Ash’s knowledge and experience are vital to Running Head First.
His academic foundations include undergraduate degrees in strength and conditioning, sports and exercise science and exercise rehabilitation.
Ash has postgraduate qualifications in sports and exercise medicine and nutrition and is a doctor in sports and exercise science. His research investigates physical activity and the relationship between mental and physical health.
Additionally, Ash has published research papers in leading journals and presented his work at conferences, including the British Heart Foundation and the British Association of Sports and Exercise Scientists.
Lee Plant
Director
Lee has worked as a personal trainer since 2011. Working with hundreds of people has given him deep insight into people’s daily physical and psychological struggles.
His experiences make Lee firmly believe that improving people’s mental health can dramatically improve every area of their lives.
This belief and commitment make Lee an essential part of Running Head First.
Liam Ennis
Coach
Liam’s interest in exercise saw him follow his passion to the University of Birmingham. He graduated with a 1:1 Bachelor’s in Sports and Exercise Science in 2019.
An experienced coach who’s worked with everyone from children to elite athletes, Liam’s ultimate goal is to combine his theoretical and practical knowledge.
Achieving this goal will help him support individuals with mental health issues through exercise, producing stronger, happier, healthier individuals.
