Timeline Photos @runningheadfirst are introducing a physical activity intervention for those experiencing mental health illness.
The purpose of the intervention is;
π΅ To improve mental health through physical activity
π΅ To improve physical and mental health through nutritional guidance
π΅ To improve mental and physical health through improved lifestyle factors, such as sleep hygiene.
The intervention will include the following;
π‘ A fully supported and coached Couch to 5K programme, as per NHS Couch to 5K guidelines to help keep you motivated
π‘ Nutritional support throughout the intervention, to enable you to make healthy, educated nutritional choices, improving both your physical and mental health & body composition
π‘ 3 physical meet ups on a weekly basis for you to enjoy the social interaction and camaraderie, making connections with others
π‘ Daily communication and support via a private social media app, to help you along your journey and to keep in touch with your group, offering each other support throughout
π‘ Full regular assessments of participants to help you appreciate what you've achieved throughout the programme
The things you need to know;
π The intervention is limited to 6 people, due to the nature and sensitivity of mental health illness and current social distancing measures
π We will meet on two mornings or two evenings per week, + a Saturday morning.
πThere is an application process to the intervention and is for those who are experiencing mental health illness. This is just to make sure we're the right people to help you.
πThe meeting point will be in Wallasey, Wirral at @lpstrengthacademy or near by.
